Nicholas Gustavson is a recurring character in the Netflix Limited Series of Godless. He is portrayed by Ali Agirnas.
Biography[]
Gustavson is a Norwegian man who is traveling out west in covered wagons with his and his brother Jacob’s families.
Season 1[]
The Ladies of La Belle[]
Whilst making camp in New Mexico Territory on their way west they are come upon by Frank Griffin and his Gang. Frank and his men sit around the fire with them while he tells the story of the Fancher party of 1854 where his family was massacred by Mormons in Utah. Frank also asks them if they have seen Roy Goode. When his brother Jacob says they have not seen anyone, Frank tells the two of them to pick which one of their wives that he will sleep with. In the morning Frank tells Nicholas and his brother, who have been restrained, that they should have fought him. Nicholas tells him that he is no man of God and Frank preaches to him about the godlessness of the land before being interrupted by his sister-in-law’s naked shooting.
Wisdom of the Horse[]
Nicholas is traveling with the Gustavson Party as they are come upon by Bill McNue in pursuit of Frank Griffin who asks them if they have seen his gang. Nicholas asks McNue if he knows Griffin and if he is hunting them. McNue says that he is, and Nicholas is surprised that he is all by himself.
